Squirrel Control Ashford
A new-build's roofline still settling can leave a small gap at the soffit that a grey squirrel finds within its first year.
Squirrel Control in Ashford
A new-build roofline can have a small gap where fascia and soffit meet the roof structure, not always sealed as tightly at handover as it should be, and a grey squirrel needs surprisingly little room to force its way through.
Scratching and thumping in the loft, especially at dawn and dusk when squirrels are most active, is usually the first sign, well before any visible damage is noticed.
Local pattern
A New Roofline's Small Settling Gap
A survey checks the soffit, fascia and roof junctions for the entry point, along with the extent of any damage to insulation, timber or cabling inside the loft.
Once the squirrel is removed, proofing the entry point with a durable material squirrels can't gnaw through stops it happening again.
New-build proofing for other pests doesn't cover the roofline gaps squirrels use, which are higher up and often overlooked.
